What if you need to build the cleanest air likely with these units, and noise levels are of no concern? We ran a different set of particle tests with the best home air purifiers on their highest fan setting, anticipating to see the premium units being able to provide cleaner air than the more cost-effective units.
We ran our particle observations as preceding, but with the units showed up high and the test time continued for an hour. We found that the systems tested had very similar efficiency. What this suggests is that CADR scores aside, they will all carry out well in the long run.

We ran increased tests overnight with the air purifiers on the highest setting to see how small we might bring the particle numbers. After a 12-hour period, we found that all the air purifiers were efficient at reducing the particle concentration and producing air that was immaculate (see Table XX). Smoke particles were reduced to 27-166 particles per cubic centimeter, and dust particles were reduced to 0.42-3.7 particles per cubic centimeter.
Ordinarily, particle concentrations less than 900/ cm ^ 3 for smoke (0.010-5 microns) and less than 10/cm ^ 3 for dust (0.4-19 microns) is considered spotless. Meant for the continuous tracking of background conditions ultimately a one-week period, the discrepancy in the numbers in the cleansed air was attributed to variation in the background concentrations instead of differences in the purification abilities of the air purifiers.

Air purifiers were assessed for their effectiveness at removing odors using a $2500 RAE Systems miniRAE 3000 VOC measure to detect levels of ethanol offered to the room. Five milliliters of ethanol were contributed to a Pyrex meal heated up to 50 degrees Celsius (122 F) where it rapidly evaporated. Ethanol vapors were dispersed through the room with a 16-inch round fan on medium setting. Concentrations of ethanol were determined at the start at about 35 parts per million, and once again after 15 minutes of operating the air purifier at its test speed.
